          Resilience Activity Project

The Livelihoods for Resilience Activity Project had a goal to enable 36,000 food insecure HHs graduates from the PSNP to achieve long term resilience. It’s fund was secured from USAID and was implemented in consortium with CARE,SNV & ORDA Ethiopia, an implementer, in Amhara region 3 woredas of Woldia cluster (Raya Kobo, Habru & Guba Lafto) 2 woredas of Meket cluster (Meket and Wadla) 2 woredas of Mehal Meda cluster (Menze Mama & Menze Gera) from December 2016 to June 2022.

          Resilience Activity Project 1

The project closing workshop has been carried out in Bahir dar city. Ato dejene Minliku, Deputy executive director of ORDA Ethiopia, said the project has played a paramount role and beneficiaries should sustain the the technical supports for further economic development. As stated in the workshop, 36,186 productive safteynet beneficiary (PSNP) households (HHs) got involved in saving and saved USD 989,794, which USD 194, 0855 was borrowed to members. In crop and livestock pathway 25,274 HHs (38.4% are female) participated in shoat fattening, poultry production, cattle fattening, wheat, lentil, potato, mung bean & onion production. In addition, in creating resilient market system 21 agro dealers, 14 pullet growers, 2 feed franchise has been engaged in the market system. Furthermore, 27,333 HHs has been actively engage in off farm activities to improve their livelihood.
