As a result, internally displaced people are not receiving basic food, medicine, and other basic necessities. Hence to mitigate the atrocities, ORDA Ethiopia executive Director Dr. Alemayehu Wasse has explained to the US Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ambassador Pasi; Assistant administrator of USAID, Sarah Charles, and mission director of USAID Ethiopia Shaun Johnnes on October 22, 2021, in Bahir Dar while they visited ORDA Ethiopia head office. Dr. Alemayehu recognized the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for its support over the past 20 years in the Amhara region. However, he further noted that the support provided by international humanitarian organizations to currently displaced people by the war in the Amhara region is small and late.
