Prevention is better than Medication!

               Chacha Health Center

Chacha Health Center is one of the four centers found in Angolelana Tera Woreda in North Shoa Zone of Amhara region, Ethiopia. It has seven health posts under it and serves for about 36,824 people. The center was founded since 2005 and currently has 38 health professionals and 20 supportive staff.

Ato Sisay Belete, a health officer at the health center, was asked about his understanding of COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of the epidemic in his life. Then, he said, “I was reluctant when I get heard about Corona virus in first week. But, when a person was infected at the center, I was highly shocked and started to advice people.”

Ato Sisay is very grateful to ORDA/Charity Water for the genuine support they made to the health center. The center together with health posts have got 7 water tanks, 138 litre alcohol,42 litre sanitizer, 200 facemask, 25 surgical gloves, 238 liquid soap, a megaphone to teach/aware the community and so forth.

The health officer confirmed that attitude and skill of the community is changed, particularly hand washing has been practiced. He believed the project has supported people to take care of the pandemic and change is observed.
