Executive director of ORDA Ethiopia Alemayehu Wassie (Ph.D.) said that ORDA Ethiopia would implements 38 projects in 134 woredas of Amhara and Afar regions in 2023 with a total budget Birr 6.5 billion.

ORDA Ethiopia has been working with a strategy to eliminate chronic poverty and hunger since 1984. Alemayehu Wassie (Ph.D.), executive director of ORDA Ethiopia, in a press release gave to Amhara Media Corporation, said, "In 2023, a total of 38 projects will be implemented in the Amhara region and the Afar region. Out of this, 31 projects are continued from last year, while 7 projects are newly opened. We are engaging in 134 woredas in the Amhara and Afar regions. We will do development works in 71 woredas, and emergency relief work will be done in 94 woredas. Generally, we plan to mobilize a budget of Birr 6.5 billion in 2023".

In his press conference, he thanked the donors who supported the development of the community so far and called on all concerned parties to cooperate

"For the development works to be effective, the local community should see ORDA Ethiopia as its asset. They should protect its properties and report when unnecessary actions take place. They know that the support we give them is not the end but the beginning. Therefore, they are expected to cooperate with us with what they have been doing till now. As a result, they can transform in to a better life with our support. On the other hand, I would like to take this opportunity to call on the local government officials to support & follow up ORDA Ethiopia as part of their organization. We would like to extend our thanks to the international donors that have trusted and supported us, and also will continue to work with us in the future," said the executive director.
