Although the farmer struggled to get his family food consumption on the half-hectare farm, farmer Gedamu did not provide enough food for his family. He rented additional farmland and managed to support his family. In addition to farming, he is also rearing sheep to support himself.

Gedamu Gete, aged 42, is a resident of Yegosa Kebele in Enarj and Enawuga woreda and is a father of four children. Although this woreda is productive, it is densely populated, farmers' farms are fragmented and small. Farmer Gedamu has only 0.5 hectares of land, and he leases additional 1.025 hectares of land from other farmers. But because land rent is expensive; he is not such a beneficiary.

To diversify his income he was rearing a sheep. But the sheep were not productive and did not benefit as much as expected. While ORDA Ethiopia Linking Agriculture with Natural Resource Management and Nutrition-PLUS (LANN+) Project is being implemented to improve the nutrition, hygiene & sanitation of 36,500 targeted households of east Gojjam zone two woredas: Gonchasiso Enese woreda & Enarjina Enawuga woreda, farmer Gedamu was among beneficiaries list.
