                   Berayu village

Berayu village which is a cold area is found in Saria kebele, near to Debrebirhan town. The residents were exposed to severe potable water shortage. They were fetching unsafe water from Dalicha pond.

Mrs. Tsege Hailu, aged 38, lives in Berayu village, sariya kebele, Basonawrena Woreda. She is married and has nine children. She was poor in hygiene due to unsafe water in her village while she was giving a birth. She used to drink unsafe water from a field pond. The time taken to fetch from the pond is the other problem for them that took 3 hour. The villagers also fight each other for ordering. Sometimes they were buying pipe water from Debre Birhan town.

ORDA’s Charity Water Project has been implementing to deliver safe water & to keep hygiene of farmers in North Shoa Zone two woredas: BasonaWorena & SiaydebirNewayu woredas since 2016.
