WRDP kicked off 2015/2016 preparation phase

Organization for Rehabilitation and Development in Amhara (ORDA) is the major dependable developmental partner of the region that contributed remarkable achievements in improving the livelihood of the society.
Water Resource Development Program (WRDP) is one of the major thematic development interventions of ORDA which is playing a significant role in delivering potable water and small scale irrigation schemes.
The program developed 90 hand dug wells, 89 spring developments, 22 shallow wells and a deep well of totally 202 safe water schemes benefiting over 36 thousand HHs in 2014/2015.
With regard to SSI developments in 2014/2015, WRDP carried out 8 diversions, 2 spates, 59 ponds and 210 rope and washer pumps that can potentially irrigate 892 hectares of land benefiting around 3073 HHs.
