ORDA Ethiopia successfully completed its 12th General Assembly, and approved the newly ratified by law and 5-years (2021 to 2025) strategic plan
The current ORDA Ethiopia, the former Organization for Rehabilitation and Development in Amhara (ORDA) held its 12th regular general assembly on 15 January 2022 in Bahir Dar. In his opening remarks, Dr. Yilkal Kefale, President of the Amhara National Regional State, said ORDA Ethiopia has been making significant contributions to social development, agricultural development, natural resource development, education, and health development in the history of the Amhara people. ORDA Ethiopia Executive Director, Dr. Alemayehu Wasse, on his part, told the General Assembly that ORDA Ethiopia has set out its new strategic plan to carry out charitable activities at the national level by strengthening its capacity and coordinating its revenue-generating institutions.
The organization's amended bylaw was presented and approved by the assembly. Earlier, the General Assembly was the governing body and the final decision-maker, but according to the new bylaw, the final governing body and decision-making body will be the board of directors. So, nine members of the board were assigned by the assembly. Accordingly, the ANRS president Dr. Yilkal Kefale has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and W/ro Frealem Shebabaw has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the Board of directors. Dr. Tilahun Mehari, Dr. Mamaru Ayalew, her excellence Fantu Tesfaye, D/r Almaz Gizew, D/r Firew Tegegn, W/ro Firealem Shibabaw, Ato Ayitenew Endeshaw & W/ro Enye Yimer were assigned as members of the board.
In the General assembly, the past 10 years' performance and the next 5 years' strategic plan were presented and approved. In the general assembly, authorities from the federal government, development agencies, members of the board of directors & beneficiaries have participated. Finally, recognition was awarded for the latest board members, and the general assembly was successfully completed.
