ORDA to plant over 8.4 million tree seedlings in 2019

ORDA has started planting in different areas of the Amhara region in 2019. ORDA planned to plant 2 million in greening program, 2 million in Derita project and over 4.4 million seedlings in other projects of ORDA. 

                                               
For the last 22 years, ORDA has been planting indigenous & exotic species of trees in the region. More than 758 million tree seedlings were produced & 704.8 million seedlings (of which 64 million are indigenous) planted over 129 thousand hectares of land. From the total plantation, 54.3 million seedlings which covered 18,674 hectares was executed through community based greening program and 15, 582 hectares of forest is already handed over to the community & local government.
