ORDA presented its 9-months performance report to the Board

The Organization for Rehabilitation and Development in Amhara (ORDA) presented its 9-months Performance Report of the 2019 to Board of Directors of ORDA on the 27th of December, 2019. His Excellency Ato Temesgen Tiruneh, President of the Amhara Regional State has been unanimously voted to preside over the Board of Directors of ORDA in place of the former chairperson his Excellency Ambachew Mekonnen (Ph.D).

The development activities that the organization has been undertaking are discussed in detail and the strengths and weaknesses were identified. It is also noted that exemplary practices of the organization should be scaled out to government offices in the region.

ORDA operates 29 projects from 23 donors (including emergency food aid) in 55 woredas, and has worked with over 288,000 households (1.44 million people) in key areas to ensure food security and improve their livelihoods.

ORDA has a total annual budget (including commodity management) of 1.43 billion birr, and it has used 601 million Birr to execute projects in 9 months.

During the times of absence of adequate funding & donor fatigue, ORDA is strengthening enterprises to properly support programs and benefit as many people as possible. The Enterprises like Bahir Dar Plant Tissue Culture, Abay Construction, Addis Ababa Mixed use complex building, and Bahir Dar Garage services are being properly undertaken.
