Amhara/ORDA-USAID partnership to be strengthened

Delegates and higher officials of USAID visited ORDA.

During the visit, President of ANRS, his Excellency Ato Gedu Andargachew warmly welcomed guests to the Amhara regional capital- Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

His Excellency Ato Gedu gratefully appreciated USAID for its longer years’ unreserved partnership with ORDA to reach millions for a humanitarian assistance, food security and livelihood improvement in the region. He also claimed ORDA has a capacity to implement different projects at a time covering a wider area of the region. Hence, his Excellency called for USAID to closely work with ORDA and the regional government in order to insure food security and overall development of the region.

  

Executive director of ORDA, Dr. Amlaku Asres acknowledging USAID highlighted guests’ remarkable achievements of the organization in those four major thematic areas (natural resource, food security & agricultural development, safe water supply and expansion of irrigation schemes, youth employment and gender issues.

He added that ORDA has a vibrant capacity of implementation and strong grass root bondage with the public and the government.

It’s also mentioned that a 15 years’ partnership of ORDA-USAID helped gain rich experience to fully carry out developmental interventions in the region.


ORDA has better composition in human power, has equipped resources, developed useful manuals and directives to answer donor compliances. Hence, Dr. Amlaku inquired USAID for a direct funding access to benefit millions
